Little Tahoma, Mt. Rainier
What a view! I took this shot one morning on the Ingraham Glacier while climbing Mt. Rainier in August 2019. You only get a fleeting few seconds for the sun to hit a subject from behind like that, and you have to be ready and know it's coming.
Thankfully my Sony A7iii has a quick burst and allowed me to take shots at machine-gun speed in order to make sure I got the moment that I wanted. By closing the aperture to a small opening (higher number) the camera creates the starburst with any light source.
Loved seeing the RMI guides and their clients summiting. Immaculate weather.
I miss that place and that moment, every day.
